A Jefferson City man has been charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance after leading authorities on a chase in May.
Ernest Walker, 21, is also charged with misdemeanor charges of resisting a lawful stop and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
On May 22, Jefferson City Police Department officers reportedly tried to do a traffic stop on Walker for a registration violation, according to a JCPD probable cause statement. Walker failed to yield to officers and a pursuit ensued until officers used a tire deflation device and successfully deflated all four tires on Walker’s vehicle.
During an interview, one of Walker’s passengers allegedly admitted she had Xanax and Ecstasy hidden on her, which authorities were eventually able to find. When questioned, Walker allegedly admitted the drugs belonged to him, and he brought it to Jefferson City from St. Louis to deliver to an unknown person, but as unable to do so.
